  1. What insurance is accepted?

    Currently, we only accept the following insurances at this time. Please note that some insurances are subject to copays and deductibles depending on your coverage.

    • TX Medicaid (Superior)

    • Community First

    • Blue Cross Blue Shield of TX (ONLY)

    • Aetna Better Health of TX

    • Optum (United Health)

    • Aetna and Aetna Better Health

  2. Who does Artvango mainly provide services for?

    Our primary focus is children that have experienced foster care or adoption, or who have experienced trauma. We do not provide services related to custody and/or divorce. Additionally, we cannot provide opinions on where children should or should not live or regarding visitations. No exceptions.

  3. What happens if my child does not benefit from Artvango Therapy?

    Artvango makes every possible effort to help your child overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. However, if your child is unable to benefit from Artvango Therapy, we will kindly refer your child to care that is better suited for their needs. Please visit our Crisis & Additional Services tab for more information. We are dealing with the brain and change isn’t instantaneously! It takes 62 days for a good behavior to become a daily routine. Positive changes takes time and it will require the parent’s effort as well. Parents will receive homework and will be required to parent differently depending on your child’s needs. If this doesn’t fit what you are searching for in a therapist, we suggest you look for a different therapy center. Please refer to our home page under “What makes Artvango unique” section.

  4. What is the cost of one session? How long is each session?

    Each private pay session with a Licensed Professional Counselor costs $100/53 minutes. Initial session cost $135/ hr. Insurance rates vary. Depending on grant availability and meeting Artvango policy requirements, financial assistance may be provided for full or partial session coverage or copays.

  5. How many sessions are required to receive a diagnosis, treatment plan, or referral?

    Artvango utilizes the following template for sessions: An evaluation phase (varies per client and may consist of 1 to 3 sessions) followed by an initial treatment plan or referral. Artvango clinicians are continually assessing fit—treatment plan adjustments and referrals may take place at any time.

  6. What does art therapy look like and how does it help?

    Art Therapy is the therapeutic use of art marking within a professional relationship, with individuals who experience illness, trauma, or challenges in living. The creative process involved in the making of art is healing and life enhancing. Please note that not all of our clinicians are art therapists.

  7. What is expressive therapy and how is it utilized?

    Expressive therapy is our most commonly used treatment Artvango. Expressive therapy involves art, play, movement, music, and other forms of expression to heal, practice and build new skills.

  8. Is Artvango accepting any interns or practicum students?

    Artvango is not accepting any new practicum students or interns at this time. We hope to open our doors to counselors in training in the near future.
