LPC and LPC-Associate Counseling Positions

Job Summary 

Artvango Therapeutic Services, Inc. provides individual/ group/family expressive counseling to children within the foster care system and those that have experienced trauma, family support services, as well as prevention education, parenting education and continuous psycho education to the community. 

We are currently seeking LPCs and part-time LPC-Associates to join our team and provide expressive therapies to children and adults that have experienced trauma. Knowledge of the effects of trauma on the brain and behaviors is needed.

Please Note: We are not accepting practicum students or interns at this time. 

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Behave and communicate in a client centered manner while performing all work tasks and duties 

  • Ability to conduct individual therapeutic services with children, adolescents, teens and/or adults.
    Ability to facilitate group and family services a plus.

  • Use of art, play, and expressive means in therapy, or other experiential therapeutic practices within sessions is a must. 

  • Contact clients for initial appointment and maintain consistent scheduling of sessions.

  • Effectively conceptualize mental health care, providing accurate diagnosis and comprehensive treatment plans to best meet client needs.

  • Be consistent and reliable with client sessions and communications with caregivers, using evidence based therapeutic practices.

  • Build and maintain strong rapport with clients and caregivers to work towards healing and avoiding regular no shows and high client turnover.

  • Effectively manage clinical documentation (diagnosis & treatment plans, intake notes, progress notes, and other relevant documentation) via our electronic health records system, as well as other grant and insurance-related responsibilities in a timely manner.

  • Respond to email and phone communications in a timely manner.

  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team setting.

  • Communicate/advocate for client interests with outside agencies such as schools, foster agencies, CASA advocates, Ad Litem, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, and other service providers in the community when needed.

  • Adhere to all licensing board requirements, state reporting and federal privacy rules and regulations, uphold professional boundaries, and act in an ethical, professional manner at all times.

  • Maintain a current, in good standing, Texas LPC Associate license to provide counseling and remain up to date with licensing board requirements 

Skills & Specifications: 

  • Understanding and background using trauma-informed, strengths-based, client-centered counseling approach.

  • Practice in facilitating expressive art and play, meditation, grounding, co-regulation techniques, and other experiential therapeutic techniques preferred.

  • Desire to work with the population we serve is a must, and experience working with children and trauma is a plus.

  • Ability to act effectively and compassionately in a crisis situation and know how to seek help and guidance when needed.

  • Knowledge of, or willingness to acquire, evidence-based frameworks and interventions relevant to mental health conditions, i.e., trauma informed care, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, client centered therapy, trauma-focused interventions such as TBRI.

  • Must be able to pass Artvango's Criminal Background Check requirements, possess a valid Texas driver's license, and have reliable transportation with proof of proper auto liability insurance coverage.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or social work from an accredited institution and current Texas temporary license (LPC Associate).

  • Experience conducting individual, family, or group therapeutic services a plus.

  • Experience in a victim advocacy agency, social service environment, mental health agency, or other related experience a plus.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience 

    Hours:

This position requires a minimum of 5 clients per week and is intended for weekday business or evening hours 8 am-6 pm and/or weekend hours from 8 am-6 pm. We have a large need for school-aged clients to be seen on weekends and evenings. LPC Associate sets and maintains their own scheduling.
